Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Sortie ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Sortie is an AI-powered inbox organization tool that connects to your Gmail account via Google's official OAuth2 API. It scans your inbox, uses AI to classify senders, and creates Gmail filters to help you organize your email automatically.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and have a valid Google account to use Sortie. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Your account and data

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
• Sortie accesses your Gmail only with your explicit authorization via Google OAuth.
• You can revoke Sortie's access at any time via your Google account permissions.
• You own all data in your Gmail account. Sortie does not claim any rights over your email content.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to access other users' Gmail accounts without authorization
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service or its API
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without permission

6. AI classification

Sortie uses the Claude AI API (Anthropic) to classify email senders. AI suggestions are not guaranteed to be accurate. You review and approve all filters before they are applied. Sortie is not responsible for misclassified emails or incorrectly applied filters.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that Sortie will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sortie and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including any loss of data or emails.

9. Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time. We'll provide reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
